- Associated with Osmania Graduates Association, Exhibition Society, and the Economic Committee.
- President of the Society of Union and Progress for 17 years.
- In 1929, prepared a scheme to settle Hindu-Muslim differences under Sri S. Srinivas Iyangar's guidance.
- Elected Vice-President of the Indian National Congress session held in Hyderabad in 1948.
- In 1952, elected to the Senate of Osmania University, and also a member of the Senates of Aligarh University, Jamia Millia, and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Founded a Polytechnic in Hyderabad in 1957.
- Member of the U.N.O. delegation led by Shri Krishna Menon.
- Went on a goodwill mission to China under Sri Anantasayanam Iyangar, and later visited Moscow, Finland, and several countries in Asia and Africa.
- Served for 18 years as a member of the Rajya Sabha and was the Hon. Chairman for 12 years.
- Elected Deputy Leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party.
- Major contribution in strengthening Hindu-Muslim unity.
